Duo Exsjellente

Rick and Johannes, two close friends have been leading their sections in the two rivalling Stockholm orchestras more than a decade now and in the meantime they have run a concert series together with Stockholm Syndrome Ensemble experimenting on the concert constellation for more than 40 projects.

Within these projects they’ve appeared as a duo for several times and their recording of Schnittke’s Hymn II for cello % double bass duo can be found on the praised Stockholm Syndrome- album Voices of Angels.

However, it wasn’t until their collaboration for the recording of Vivaldis’s famous double cello concerto (now to be found on the album “Doppio Espressivo” ) that the idea of a separate duo project finally became realized!

Now, the dream has come through and the audience has the luck to experience the magic of these two merry chaps in an exciting program consisting of a collection of fantastic bass register music from Italian baroque all the way to Appalachian blue grass!
